
Corporate Identity & Marketing Communications
For OneCalifornia Bank, a new community development bank and supporting Foundation in Oakland, California, I led a branding team composed of the organization's co-founder, Bank executives, and Board members. Long before the Bank opened, we began honing a corporate identity that influenced the interior architecture, programs, and services. This was a rare opportunity to be involved in a truly organic identity development process and it used my whole toolbox of skills. It's been highly rewarding to see OneCalifornia go from dream to reality. My responsibilities and contributions as a marketing communications consultant include strategic planning, logos, messaging, concept, design and writing of print materials, advertising, website, and ongoing branding.

New Product Branding
From the window of Cheri & Phil Marcucci's kitchen in Sonoma County, California, they see the "Sleeping Woman" silhouette of Mount St. Helena rise above vineyards once tended by Phil's great grandfather and great uncle—Martino and Lorenzo Fava. The Marcucci's invited me to sit at their kitchen table, look at treasured family photos, and listen to stories of their family history. For the first wine release—a sub-brand of Marcucci Farms—they asked me to write the communications and design the label for Fava Brothers Zinfandel. I painted the brothers in watercolor and then recreated the art for the silkscreened bottle, designed the business papers, and worked in collaboration with Lynn Bell of Monroe Street Studios on the brochure and website. I enjoy discovering ways to convey the heart of a business in words and images, and I appreciate creative collaboration with clients and creative partners.

Concept Development & Copywriting
Community Foundation Sonoma County is a force for positive change. They are a conduit for funding and connecting nonprofit organizations, involving donors, and anticipating and serving diverse needs in the county. For their annual report, I worked with the Foundation's communications director and a team of independent creative consultants. Together, we evolved and finessed the report's theme. I interviewed directors and staff of several nonprofit organizations supported by the Foundation and wrote stories and other sections for the report. Belinda Fernandez of B Graphics designed the brochure.
